Sydney just had a great 4 month check-up. She is 15 lbs and 25 inches, sitting right at the 75 percentile on the regular charts. She is getting stronger with holding her head up straight and is really working on rolling onto her side. She is nice and healthy and we are all so thankful. Of course with a doctor visit comes shots. Ouch! Poor baby got four shots and was NOT happy about it! She slept them off over the next few days and ran a small fever. But it is Monday and all is well is Sydney-land.
We went to our first “Ink-dots” event this last weekend. It was a gathering to make Holiday placemats. Syndey made some beautiful footprints and chewed on a foam flower. It was great fun. We met several other children from 7 months old to 6 years old. It was nice to get together and share some stories.
We are gearing up for Thanksgiving. We are heading to the Callaways, our dear friends and church family. The kids are SO excited since the “Callaways” are just as exciting as Disneyland for them. We are so blessed!!
Proud Mama

Can you believe how time flies? Sydney is now 16 weeks old and is doing great! Little Miss Sydney is holding up her head for long periods of time, and can hold her head up straight while on her tummy. She surprised us this week by rolling over once. It was probably not on purpose, but a great milestone, nonetheless. She is learning how to use her hands more and more each day by reaching out and grabbing items that are in front of her. Not only has she learned to suck her thumb (can you say adorable??? check out the pictures) but she just discovered how to grab her toes. The best part is that she will sit and have conversations with us. She smiles and chatters. I wish I knew what she was saying, but in lieu of words, I can say for sure that she is a happy baby, which is FABULOUS!
For those who may be concerned, You may notice that she is sitting in the recently recalled BUMBO chair. I read the recall and the reason it was recalled was because people did not follow the instructions and warnings on the paperwork. In other words, no worries, she will NOT be placed in the Bumbo while on the table and will NOT be left unattended. The seat is actually a wonderful way for her to sit up, fully supported, and look around. It helps with balance and strengthening neck muscles.

For Sydney’s first Halloween, she was a butterfly and big brother Anthony was dressed up as the Amazing Spiderman. They were adorable! Trick-or-treating was a blast. Although there were several Spidermen running around, Anthony was the only one lit up with glow stick necklaces and bracelets. When we were in the darker spots, he looked like a character from Tron. Spidey made out like a bandit with the candy, to the point that we had to stop and empty his pumpkin because it was too heavy. Sydney slept through most of the evening and was carried around by her proud papa. At one point, Anthony turned to me and said “Mama, I am SO excited!!!” Needless to say, they had a great night. Anthony’s night was topped off by being able to hand out candy to the late night trick-or-treaters. Although Sydney won’t remember it, her first Halloween was fun and she was adorable!
